Just another friendly reminder to everyone that we must stay vigilent with regards to dogs being leashed while on Sanibel beaches.
Especially during turtle season!
Summer is also the time for nesting for several different species of birds and therefore, their nests and eggs are at great risk as well.
A new flyer is being distributed detailing the specific laws, which you can read for yourself below or download and distribute by downloading it from this link: Leash Law Flyer

That’s it for this week!
Have a good one,

There is one thing for certain and that is that Sanibel and Captiva Islands do not lack for great music!
The locals know that any night with Marty Stokes and the Captiva Band will be a night of blues music to remember…
Having grown up on the islands and with a family island heritage dating back to the 1800s, Marty and his close group of friends have been showing off their incredible talent for many years. They also have a great CD that you can get through their webiste which I’ve linked to here:

As well, we absolutely cannot forget Danny Morgan and his talented group of musicians who have been entertaining and performing at island weddings and events for nearly 30 years! Danny also has a couple of great CDs that you probably have already heard…maybe even at the Fort Myers Airport. Yes, he’s that popular!

These guys have been pleasing crowds night after night right here on Sanibel and Captiva and, dare I say, that no trip to the islands is complete without taking in one of their fantastic shows!
They are just a huge hit with locals and tourists alike…
You can check out their schedule and locations by heading over to their respective websites, so get out there and enjoy an amazing night of music and dancing!!
Have a great weekend…
Until next week,

As we are trying to keep everyone informed of the Blind Pass “goings-on”, I felt it was important to post an article written yesterday by Mike Mullins, the Chairman of the Captiva Erosion Prevention District (CEPD) airing his concerns about the delays that have been occurring as the project is scheduled to come to an end.
I think he makes some valid points in his well-written article and I just wanted to make sure that you saw it.
You can read it in its entirety over at CaptivaSanibel.com: Blind Pass: An Idle Dredge is the Devil’s Play Thing

Well, here’s the latest and greatest on our Blind Pass Dredging Project as of the July 3rd update:
- The last half of June unfortunately did not cooperate weather-wise in letting Dredge Nate out into the Gulf to finish its work, and therefore, has prompted a request to Lee County for a two-week extension to get the job finished up properly.
- The “Pole and Troll” buoys haven’t been placed as of yet, but when they are placed in Wulfert Flats, enforcement of the zone will go immediately into effect.
- Expected date of project completion is now anticipated for July 25th barring that the weather cooperates.

Have a great weekend,
