Blind Pass Dredging Project Nears Completion
Posted by Sandy Ramseth on May 29, 2009 in Blind Pass Dredging | 3 commentsWell, we are not out of the woods just yet, but as each week goes by, more and more progress and improvement can be seen on Blind Pass.
It’s been awhile since the last update, and more than likely it was because there was a slow-down in dredging the Gulf due to two weeks of heavy waves at the end of April.
But, fortunately, the crew took full advantage of the “downtime” and was able to haul all of the non-beach compatible “debris” away to be disposed of… so, actually, no real time was lost at all.
The good news is that they are right on schedule and expect to make their “beginning of July” deadline for completion, which is amazing considering all that had to be done!
So, they are in the last stretch and will probably only have one more update, which of course, we will bring you as soon as it is available!
You can check all the juicy details of the full report below, or download it right here if you would prefer at Blind Pass Dredging May Update:
Have a great weekend!
Rob and Sandyp.s. Got some new listings…. have you seen them? No? Well, you can check them out over at our main site at SanCap One Source Realty… Enjoy!

Just a quick update to this post. Heard from a Sanibel Employee just yesterday (5/29/09) that the completion date is now the “middle” of July rather than the beginning.
Oh well, what’s a couple more weeks in the grand scheme of things. It will be a wonderful thing when it is done….
Sandy
I’m following the progress of the Blind Pass dredging project on your Blog with great interest. I will be on Sanibel in two weeks. Do you think that it will be open by then?
Thanks
John
Hi John,
Thanks for following the updates on the Blind Pass dredging. So far as I’m told, the anticipated opening is still scheduled for mid-July, a bit later than originally planned, but still in the ballpark. Whether this holds and as for a date certain, I cannot say. But be assured, as soon as I know more, I will definitely post it here.
While you’re in town, be sure to drop in and say hi…we’d love to meet you. We are located in the Sanibel Promenades (across from the Post Office) in Unit 14. We have some great Island maps you may find useful while you are here.
Have a safe trip, Sandy
